At last, the last

Chemo a go-go tomorrow!! My last treatment, finally.

In about two weeks, I’ll have an MRI. Then, there will be a follow-up appointment with my surgeon to discuss the MRI and to plan surgery. Surgery will be about a month from now, but apparently we can’t set a date until after the MRI results are in.

Naturally I am excited, but it’s also scary to think that I won’t be taking “medicine” for the cancer anymore. The next step is surgery, but that’s not for another month. In preparation for my month without any Western treatment, I have been hitting bookstores and libraries and my own bookshelves for books on visualization, meditation, healing. I must bombard the cancer with just as much firepower on my own as the doctors did with chemo.

That’s all fine and well, but frankly I am much more jazzed about how much fun we had over the 4th and how much fun we’ll have next week at the circus. More about those in another post. For now, I’m off to the Farmer’s Market to get some yummy fresh veggies to make my mom’s gazpacho recipe.
